The plants wilt, nobody can tell them why, and they decide they just don't have a green thumb. I hear that story all the time.
I'm a biologist and a science teacher, so when I look at a struggling plant, I see a cause I can find. It's usually soil, sun, or water, and it's almost always fixable. A green thumb is really just knowledge nobody shared with you yet.
I started Victory Gardens Dallas in 2020 to share it. Your bed gets built and planted right from day one, and you get a real person to text when something looks off.
400+ gardens later, my favorite part is still the first-harvest photo. Sherene sent me hers holding up cucumbers like baby Simba.

We had an incredible time learning about herbs, getting our hands in the soil, and planting something that will continue to grow long after the workshop ended.
