Welcome to the Victory Gardens basics series. In this 4 part series, I’m going to teach you about the three key ingredients to a healthy garden. Soil, sun & water. Then I’m going to take you on a tour of plant systems and how they communicate with you.
- In Part 1 of this series we will discuss soil. As a gardener, you need to know what soil is, what it contains, what makes good soil, and what it does for your plants.
- In Part 2 of the Victory Gardens Basics Series we will discuss sun. As a gardener, you need to understand your plants relationship to the sun so that you can position them to thrive.
- In Part 3 of this series we will discuss water. As a gardener, you need to know the basics about how water affects plants, when to water, how much and so on.
- In Part 4 of this series, we will have a look at plant anatomy & physiology, life cycles and their unique requirements. As a gardener, you need to recognize the different forms your plants will take and understand what they are communicating with you so that you can respond appropriately.
With these basics under your belt, you will be able to care for your garden using best practices and science based intuition. Each class is 1 hour long including time for Q&A.
